About Greenland: Greenland is by far the largest island in the world, an enormous landmass in the Arctic that is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. Roughly 80% of Greenland is permanently covered by a massive ice sheet, and almost all of its small population lives along the ice-free coast. A Sea-Level Giant — If Greenland's entire ice sheet melted, scientists estimate global sea levels would rise by about 7 meters (23 ft).
