About Ivory Coast: President Houphouet-Boigny made Yamoussoukro the capital in 1983. It was his birthplace, and he wanted to grow the middle of the country. Abidjan on the coast is still Ivory Coast's largest city and money centre. Its huge basilica can hold about 18,000 people inside!
